Fellows' Presentation Series

The Fellows' Presentation Series is a forum for Radcliffe Institute fellows to present work-in-progress. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at 4 p.m. in the Radcliffe Gymnasium, 10 Garden Street, Radcliffe Yard.


Debra Fischer’s Quest for New Planets

Twenty years ago, astronomers didn’t know of a single planet outside our solar system. Today, they have found approximately 400, of which Debra Fischer RI ‘10 helped to identify about half. Now she and her team are competing in another search.


Making the Bow

Performance-quality bows, which allow professional musicians to play violins, violas, and cellos, are made of pernambuco heartwood. Unfortunately for bow makers, the pernambuco tree is endangered. Journalist Russ Rymer RI ’10 has been following their story since 2001.
