Fellows' Presentation Series

The Fellows' Presentation Series is a forum for Radcliffe Institute fellows to present work-in-progress. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at 4 p.m. in the Radcliffe Gymnasium, 10 Garden Street, Radcliffe Yard.


Fellowship Application Information

Cluster proposals for the 2011–2012 fellowship year are now being accepted. The deadline for proposals from groups of creative artists, humanists, social scientists, natural scientists, and mathematicians is May 3, 2010.

Nature's Fine Designs

Joanna Aizenberg RI '10 is a pioneering researcher in biomimetics, a branch of science that models new systems and materials on nature, who finds modern lessons in ancient creations.


Making the Bow

Performance-quality bows, which allow professional musicians to play violins, violas, and cellos, are made of pernambuco heartwood. Unfortunately for bow makers, the pernambuco tree is endangered. Journalist Russ Rymer RI ’10 has been following their story since 2001.
