Radcliffe Endowment Match

To enable the Radcliffe Institute to build endowment to advance scholarship in all disciplines and the arts and to foster interdisciplinary endeavors, the Institute has established a $5 million match to support the Radcliffe Fellowship Program, the Schlesinger Library and the lectures, symposia, conferences, and special research opportunities presented by the Institute.

Guidelines

Donors can endow a named fellowship, library or program support fund.

  • Gifts of $1.2 million will be matched with $800,000 to fully endow a named fellowship.

The Radcliffe Institute fellowship program brings some fifty scholars, artists, and other professionals to Cambridge each year to pursue research interests in all academic disciplines and the arts. The fellowship program is a vibrant, multidisciplinary community and an intellectual asset to the University and its students.

  • Gifts of $250,000 will receive a $125,000 match to create a named endowment fund at the Schlesinger Library.

The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America is the nation's premier repository for documents and books relating to the experiences of women in America. To expand and enhance the archives, funds are needed to support the acquisition, processing, preservation and digitization of collections.

  • Gifts of $250,000 will receive a $125,000 match to create a named endowment fund for program support.

In order for the Institute to advance exploration of all disciplines and the arts and foster interdisciplinary endeavors, flexible program endowment is a priority. Such funds underpin the Institute's outreach of lectures, symposia, conferences, and special research opportunities, or can generally support the Radcliffe Fellowship Program. Program support funds can be designated to broadly defined areas such as the sciences, social sciences, or humanities.

Donors will receive credit at the Radcliffe Institute and class credit in the Harvard College Fund for the total of their gift plus the Endowment Match.
