At Saturn: Tripping the Light Fantastic

Carolyn Porco, Director of Flight Operations and Cassini Imaging Team Leader, Cassini Imaging Central Laboratory for Operations (CICLOPS), Space Science Institute, will present "At Saturn: Tripping the Light Fantastic" on April 1, 2010.

For seven years, the Cassini spacecraft and its Huygens probe traveled invisible interplanetary roads to the place we call Saturn. What they have shown us is being closely examined in the pursuit of precise scientific information on the nature of this very alien planetary system.

Come along for the ride, and witness the sights captured and magic worked by these emissaries from Earth to the enchanting realm of Saturn.

Inside/Out: Exploring Gender and Space in Life, Culture, and Art

The Radcliffe Institute hosts its ninth annual conference on gender on April 15–16, 2010.

Inside/Out” will bring together artists, public intellectuals, and scholars in the fields of design, the humanities, and the social sciences to consider the dynamic interaction between two notions: how gender affects the way we experience, construct, and use spaces, and how the notion of space influences the way we think about gender.

In cooperation with the Harvard Graduate School of Design

Registration is required by April 5; click here to register.

Celebrate 10 Years! Crossing Boundaries at the Radcliffe Institute

The Radcliffe Institute kicked off its 10th anniversary by hosting a symposium on October 8–9, 2009. The event provided an intimate look at the interdisciplinary exchanges and accomplishments that exemplify the Institute. Former fellows shared their cutting-edge work—from advances in medical science to the art of fiction writing—and experts in digital information discussed the future of scholarly research and collaboration. Harvard leaders who helped found the Institute also reflected on Radcliffe’s remarkable transformation.
