"Until That Last Breath! Women with HIV/AIDS"

Monday, September 8, 2008 - Friday, May 15, 2009

Byerly Hall, 8 Garden Street, Radcliffe Yard, 617-495-8212

This powerful exhibit of the photographs of Ann P. Meredith is the inaugural exhibit in the gallery of the Radcliffe Institute’s newly renovated Byerly Hall. Meredith’s work has long focused on women and women’s issues. Since 1970, she has exhibited widely works that include “Relativity in the Eighties” (an exhibit about women and aging), “Don’t Call Me Honey” (women and work), “Number One Killer” (women with breast cancer), “Tall in the Saddle” (cowgirls and ranch women), “Strap 'Em Down!” (the world of drag kings), and “The Big Picture” (the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, 1995, Beijing, China). As founder and head of Swordfish Productions, Meredith continues to work nationally and internationally.

Meredith’s papers and images were acquired by the Radcliffe Institute’s Schlesinger Library in the spring of 2008 and document her career as artist, writer, filmmaker, community organizer, performance/installation artist, and, most comprehensively, photographer. Once processed, the Ann P. Meredith Papers will provide researchers with visual and textural documentation of a broad spectrum of women’s lives and women’s issues.

Byerly Hall, located in Radcliffe Yard at 8 Garden Street, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call 617-495-8212 to confirm exhibit availability.
