Language as Decision Making

Philosophy
I am developing an unorthodox model of linguistic communication, according to which language mastery is thought of as an ability to deploy common sense in light of contextual cues, rather than as an ability to conform to linguistic rules.
I am trained as a philosopher, and do not know much about cognitive science.
I am looking for someone who can help me scan through literature in cognitive science that might be relevant to my project. Ideally, it would be someone with enough interest in philosophy to understand what my project is all about and enough interest in cognitive science to find the research stimulating.
