The Radcliffe Institute science lecture series, designed for the scientifically interested layperson, brings cutting edge experts across scientific fields to Harvard to lecture and share their work.

The 2007–2008 series of Lectures in the Sciences features Lisa Tauxe on "Hunting the Earth's Magnetic Field," Inez Fung on "The Changing Carbon Cycle: How Fast Will Atmospheric CO₂ Increase?", and ocean scientist Christina Ravelo on "Regional Expressions of Global Warmth: Lessons from the Pliocene."

Past Lectures in the Sciences

Each year, Radcliffe hosts a science symposium focused on a topic requiring interdisciplinary collaboration.

The 2007–2008 symposium, "Origins of Life: The Earth, the Solar System, and Beyond," cosponsored by the Origins of Live Initiative at Harvard University, took place on Friday, March 7. Leading biologists, chemists, and planetary scientists will convene to explore pathbreaking information about planetary processes and the possibility that the origin of life is grounded in them.
